Floréal 229

This is the continuation of my photo diary, here for (roughly) the French Republican month of Floréal. True to its name, flowers bloomed and the weather improved considerably.

The Seine and Notre-Dame de Paris from Port de l’Archevêché.

Île Saint-Louis.

A mob of pigeons in Beaubourg.

I proudly inspect my tartar.

Jardin des Plantes in full bloom.

The temple at Buttes Chaumont.

Excited to enter the cave in Buttes Chaumont.

The view of Montmartre from the temple.

The view of the west bank from Parc de Belleville.

Our bicycles.

Rays of sun hit the Eiffel tower.

Staples.

With better weather, I started going for bike rides in the early morning when the streets are mostly empty. Here is the end of Promenade Marceline Loridan-Ivens with the Louvre in the background.

Bassin de l’Arsenal with the July Column in the background.

Luxembourg in the Spring.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.

A small group gathers on Montmartre to watch the sunrise.

Penny II continues to grow.

The Géode at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie.

The Bassin de la Villette.

The Bassin de la Villette from the Place de la Bataille de Stalingrad.

A swan on the Seine.

Photographing a black swan in Montsouris.

Picnickers at Montsouris.

Spring chickens and potatoes.

Homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie.

The Eiffel tower from Pont de Grenelle - Cadets de Saumur.

The Eiffel tower from the shores of Lac Supérieur.

Experiments with artichokes.

A simple breakfast.

We made friends with the owners of this delightful puppy.

Urban exploration on abandoned tracks.

Pies must cool!

Penny II peering over the lettuce.

Me with a handsome pig.

Lunch by the Seine.

The Eiffel tower from Pont du Garigliano.

Alone in a tunnel on Boulevard Thierry de Martel.

Not all pies make it.

Sitting by the Seine.

Our roses finally bloomed.

Spaghetti with guanciale.

In this period I went on a solo bike trip to the sea, and those pictures can be found in my post about that trip.

Bassin des Marais from Passerelle Richerand.

On the last day of Floréal, cafe terraces opened for the first time since October.

The streets alive again.
